General information

Each day starts with morning work. During this time children will practice a skill they have learnt previously as well as reading one to one with an adult. This is followed by breakfast (toast or cereal). Then a phonics, Topic and Maths lessons up until lunchtime.

Each day after lunch we have the opportunity to enjoy relaxation - this is where pupils’ have the opportunity to engage with Yoga, Guided Meditation or listening to relaxing music.  During this time children can choose to lay on beanbags with a blanket and unwind. This gives children a specific time to promote positive mindfulness for the rest of the day.

The rest of the afternoon is taken up with, PSHE, topic crafts, sensory and socialisation activities and games. The children particularly like Wednesday’s when we play Bingo or Uno. These games encourage children’s listening, turn taking and communications skills. At 2pm each day we have Clubs – these are activities that children have chosen to do as part of our enrichment curriculum.

Tuesday’s are our PE days. Pupils’ are advised to come into school wearing clothing appropriate for PE. Such as joggers, (shorts for the summer) T-shirts and trainers.

In Team Nemo everyone’s opinions are valued and promoted through lots of team games, drama activities and role play scenarios. This approach encourages positive friendships with peers and staff is greatly encouraged.
