PE/Sports Premium

The PE and Sports Premium is designed to  help primary schools improve the quality of the PE and sports activities offered to children in years 1 to 6;  details of our action plan for 2018/19 are outlined below:

 

PE & SPORTS PREMIUM ACTION PLAN 2018-2019

Funding £16,540

 Success Criteria:

 Support and involve the least active children by providing targeted outdoor learning activities, school sports and residential activities

Look at opportunities to partner with other schools to run sports activities and clubs

Increase pupils’ participation in green spaces activities

Encourage pupils to take on leadership or volunteer roles that support sport and physical activity within the school

Embed physical activity into the school day through active playgrounds, outdoor learning opportunities and active teaching

The engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity – the Chief Medical Officer guidelines recommend that all children and young people aged 5 to 18 engage in at least 60 minutes of physical activity a day, of which 30 minutes should be in school

The profile of PE and sport is raised across the school as a tool for whole-school improvement

The increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE, sport and in supporting outdoor learning opportunities

Broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils

Increased participation in active learning and knowledge about how to keep fit and healthy

Raise attainment in primary school swimming to meet requirements of the national curriculum before the end of key stage 2
