PE/Sports Premium

The PE and Sports Premium is designed to  help primary schools improve the quality of the PE and sports activities offered to children in years 1 to 6;  details of our action plan for 2020/21 are outlined below:

PE & SPORTS PREMIUM ACTION PLAN 2020-2021

Funding £16,589

 Success Criteria:

  • Support and involve the least active children by providing activities differentiated to meet their needs – outdoor learning activities, school sports and residential activities
  • Increase pupils’ participation in green spaces activities
  • Encourage pupils to take on leadership or volunteer roles that support sport and physical activity within the school
  • Embed physical activity into the school day through active playgrounds, outdoor learning opportunities and active teaching
  • The engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity – the Chief Medical Officer guidelines recommend that all children and young people aged 5 to 18 engage in at least 60 minutes of physical activity a day, of which 30 minutes should be in school
  • The profile of PE and sport is raised across the school as a tool for whole-school improvement
  • The increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE, sport and in supporting outdoor learning opportunities
  • Broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils
  • Increased participation in active learning and knowledge about how to keep fit and healthy
  • Raise attainment in primary school swimming to meet requirements of the national curriculum before the end of key stage 2
